Projects
Outside of work, I love dabbling in all sorts of creative projects. I usually have a few that I’m slowly chipping away at in my spare time.
Dance
I've trained in various forms of Indian classical dance for over 18 years. This, however, was unexpected.
We’re three generations of trained Indian classical dancers in my family who had never performed together.
What started as an idea at the dinner table, when confined indoors during the first year of the pandemic is now one of our favorite annual family projects. Working together from conception to choreography to costume, set design, post-production and everything in between, is pure joy!
Social Enterprise
Created first ever income for disadvantaged women who lost their partners to cancer, in India.
I founded this social enterprise at the Regional Cancer Center in India, during my undergraduate years in England. It helped rehabilitate disadvantaged women who had unexpectedly lost their partners, their families' sole breadwinners, to cancer. This project gave them a paid livelihood for the first time.
I won two competitive grants to fund it and it earned national and local coverage in the press in India and England. More importantly, it was an early turning point that shifted my priorities towards making meaningful impact.
